Spiral chipbreaker down cut two flute bits are used for their high feed rates and low noise under load, chosen when a fine finish is not required. The down-cut design pushes chips down and away from the machine to eliminate splintering and tearout, and provide a finer top surface finish. The notched chipbreaker profile reduces the size of the chips, providing superior chip clearance and reducing the workload on dust collection systems. The finish given by these bits may be acceptable without further finishing.
